Privacy policy

mullaperiyar.online (“the site”, “we”) is run by Reuben C Kuruvilla, Kerala, India. This policy explains what we collect and why.

What we collect

• Account: your name, email address and how you signed in (Google or email).
• For alerts: your home location (the place you choose or your phone’s location, only when you tap the button), the dams you want alerts for, and the phone number you give for SMS alerts.
• Supporter payments: the amount, period, date and Razorpay order/payment IDs. Card, UPI and bank details are handled only by Razorpay and never reach us.
• Messages: feedback you send us, and petition details you submit.
• Usage counts: anonymous daily page-view numbers (no personal data), and Google Analytics, which uses cookies to count visits, the pages viewed, the type of device, the approximate city or district and how visitors reached the site. Google Signals and ad personalisation are switched off, and we never send your name, email or phone number to Google Analytics. Your language choice is kept in your browser and, if you are logged in, in your profile.

How we use it

Only to run the site: send flood alerts for your area, provide the Supporter plan, reply to you, and improve the map. We do not sell your data and do not share it with advertisers.

Who processes it

Google Firebase (hosting, login and database, stored in Mumbai, India – asia-south1), Google Analytics (visit statistics) and Razorpay (payments). An SMS provider will receive your phone number only when SMS alerts start.

Your choices

You can see and change your details in My account, and ask us to delete your account and data at any time by writing to us. Petition names are shown publicly only if you tick “show my name”.

Security

Data is protected by Firebase security rules; only you and the site admins can read your profile.
